durkin90 asked:
I’m referring to the original film adaptation of Anthony Shaffer’s stage play, released in 1972 and directed by Joseph L. Mankiewicz, not the 2007 version directed by Kenneth Branagh.
By the way, does anyone know how much did it make at the box office when it came out in 72/73?

love it. great battle of wits between two incredible actors. 9/10.
Made $5.5 million in the USA. I’m not sure if that covered costs or not.

I liked it, even though it was more like watching the play than a conventional movie. It was a very clever story with many twists and I liked the idea of having only two actors in it, that made it interesting and different from other movies and enabled them to really show off their skills. The set was kind of creepy with all those automatons.
I also saw the remake and I must say, Michael Cane was brilliant in both roles.
