To all the women that read mysteries: What do you look for in a female sleuth?

    she should be mysterious and smart. notice and observe everything. try to make her be invisible but in a direct way.

    i dont read mysteries but if i did i suppose id look for the wymyn* spy to be cold-hearted and sly and coy…. mysterious, misanthropic and intelligent in all areas (street smarts, book smart, etc), also a single independent wymyn bathing in $$$!

    (lets just say i dont like to read typical stuff, cause, well, it gets old!)

    EDIT: also, id enjoy it if she was a smoker and could be identified by this trait… e.g. she almost always had a cig in hand, and this may be her downfall because she will be identifiable by other characters that she does not want to be identified by b/c the smoke is seen and smelled….
